This beautiful emerald-coloured river jewelwing damselfly (Odonata: Zygoptera: Calopterygidae: Calopteryx aequabilis) wasn’t the only neat insect I saw today; a mayfly flicked its abdomen at me and flew away (and I saw a goldfinch nest with tiny eggs too).
