Giant Water Bug

1/100s, f16, 800ISO, autoWB, 90mm Tamron macro.

Last night when my friends were leaving, they noticed this giant water bug (Hemiptera: Belostomatidae: Lethocerus americanus) crawling towards the door. I put it safely in a bucket overnight and took it out today for photographs. This is the first time I’ve seen one of these alive… such a great observation!
