Finished Flax Light

1/640s, f5, 200ISO, autoWB, 50mm p.

My tincanknits Flax Light pullover is finished and now photographed and ravelled. I’m happy with the size, though I wish that the neck was more rounded (higher in the sides and lower in the front).

Wear Test

These stripey mittens are a great display of how yarns wear differently. The cerulean blue is the most pilly of all the acrylic yarns used in these mittens.

Log Cabin Start

As mentioned, I’ve started reading Fringe Association, and when Karen showed her log cabin mitts, I thought I should try them. I’m using Topsy Farms yarn, in three natural colours. I didn’t cast on loosely enough, and my first square nips in too much, but I decided to keep going and see how it turns out.

Scrap to Stand

I found some 2×4 scraps in the woodshop and made a few tablet stands with the table saw set at 25° (though I could have perhaps gone to 15°). The cut was about 2cm deep and is a good depth. I should have drilled a hole to access the home button before doing the angled cut, as it was difficult to drill once the incision had already been made. This is still an effective prototype though and I’ve been making use of it.

Flax Light Bodice

I finished knitting three balls of my yarn (Ram Wools Softly) on my Flax Light sweater. Last night I washed my sweater and let it dry overnight so that I would have an idea of the length. It’s definitely too short still but since I’d like to have long sleeves, I’m going to start them and see how long I can get the whole thing.

Small Mending

1/60s, f5.6, 800ISO, autoWB, 90mm Tamron macro.

I did some mending this morning after I noticed that my leggings were developing holes on the inside of my calves (where they rub together). I have tried to stop the holey progression with some new additional stitches.

Gauge Measurements

My sweater is coming along and I’ve stopped after finishing the raglan increases to wash and measure my gauge and recalculate the number of rows needed.
