We went to the city to visit with friends today but first stopped at the gallery to see what is new. This living room setup is part of the Mickalene Thomas exhibit (as are the paintings and screens in the back of the frame – see it on the 5th floor).

We went to Brooklyn for breakfast today and then took the ferry down the East River. This particular ferry is only $2.75 and it goes under the Brooklyn bridge (pictured here). We walked around after the taking the ferry and then stopped back in Soho to do some more shopping before picking up our bags and heading back to our car.

The Snowman by Fischli and Weiss was in the Museum of Modern Art sculpture garden today. After we had filled our heads with as much art as we could today, we looked for a bakery and found croissant; a sparrow happily ate our crumbs while they dropped from our snack.

1/125s, f10, 400ISO, autoWB, 35mm.

We stopped to visit the outside of the Guggenheim (and found out that you are not allowed inside the main lobby without paying) and I noticed the light reflections on adjacent buildings.

Walk Through Trees

The Conservatory Garden of Central Park is a quiet part of the park set aside from the busy-ness of the rest of the park (and New York in general).
