A there-and-back trip to QUBS (Queen’s University Biological Station) made for a long day but I stopped by this swamp across from the bridge by Upper Rock Lake to enjoy the sun anyway.

I stopped at the bridge over Cold Creek on Dingman Road and watched the water running over the weir and held back in this marsh south of the road.

The views from our rental were south across the marshy area east of Winns Drive in West Lake. They changed hourly and made our stay in Prince Edward County more peaceful.

There are cattails on the east side of the road to Potts Island and a shrubby swamp on the west side.

I rode to Potts Island on Murray Marsh today (first stopping at the Market to photograph a syrphid fly) and then hiked to a point on the northwest side of the island. At the top of the island, I enjoyed the view of Percy Reach and then walked through the dunes. Back on my bike, I thought I might head east through the marsh but after Austen Island, the puddles looked long and I turned around.
